5 PILLARS OF HEALTH
SPIRITUAL WELLNESS
Dr. Cas has spent his career developing, refining and implementing his 5 Pillars of Health and Wellness© to help guide his patients to their optimal well-being.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SPIRITUAL WELLNESS
When it comes to spiritual wellness, denomination isn’t what’s important. What is important is overall well-being, and how that is achieved and maintained. For some people, it may meditation or yoga. Others may find well-being by attending church or going on long walks. These practices are closely tied to the other pillars, including medical, physical, mental and aesthetic wellness.
What is spiritual wellness?
Spiritual wellness is a personal matter involving values and beliefs that provide a purpose in each person’s life. While different individuals have different views of what spiritualism is, it is generally considered to be the search for meaning and purpose in human existence, leading one to strive for a state of harmony with oneself and others, while working to balance inner needs with the rest of the world. For example, to Dr. Cas, spiritual wellness is the ability to do unselfish acts for others, and live a morally and ethically stable life.
Discovering spiritual wellness
Dr. Cas understands that spiritual wellness looks different for every single one of his patients, and he maintains a deep respect for each person’s individual beliefs. As part of his care, Dr. Cas works to gain an understanding of what spiritual wellness is for his patients, educate them on how spiritual wellness can enhance other areas of their health, and help them identify and implement practices that will strengthen their spiritual wellness.
