Regenerative medicine is becoming a buzzword in the medical community. Why? Because the human body is specially equipped to heal itself, and regenerative therapies tap into this powerful ability.

Regenerative medicine includes treatments like exosome therapy, stem cell therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. Research around these therapies is expanding every day, showing promise for anti-aging and reducing symptoms for a wide range of conditions.

At Evoke 5 Medical Center, we are proud to bring the latest in regenerative medicine and anti-aging therapies to patients in Oklahoma City.

Benefits of Exosome Therapy

One of our most popular regenerative therapies at Evoke 5 is exosome therapy, which uses elements of stem cells to revitalize the body.

Genetic disorders, chronic and degenerative diseases, and the natural aging process can all inhibit your cells’ ability to communicate. Exosome therapy improves the communication channels between cells to stimulate healing.

Exosome therapy is a highly targeted, flexible treatment for conditions including:

  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Degenerative brain/neurologic disorders
  • Chronic infections, such as Lyme disease and Epstein-Barr virus
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Chronic pain
  • Musculoskeletal injuries

While most individuals can benefit from exosome therapy, it is not recommended for patients with a history of cancer, bone marrow dysplasia, sickle cell, hepatitis B, or any abnormal neovascularization.

Stem Cell vs. Exosome Therapy

Stem cell treatment and exosome therapy are often grouped together, but they have distinct differences – and exosome therapy may offer significant advantages.

Stem Cells Exosomes
Are a special type of cell found in the body Are extracellular vesicles or “tiny bubbles” that are released from stem cells
Can become any type of cell Carry genetic information and proteins to cells throughout your body
Act as both building blocks and repair mechanisms Create paths for communication between cells
Are found in embryos, umbilical cords, and in adult bone marrow and fat Are extracted from donated human mesenchymal stem cells and sterilized
Therapy involves guiding stem cells into becoming specific cells in the body Solution contains valuable lipids, messenger-RNA, micro-RNA, signaling cytokines and proteins
Therapy places donor cells into the body to replace and repair diseased cells Therapy can restore cells and enhance cell-to-cell communication, which is essential for overall cell health

Stem cell therapy can certainly provide rejuvenating benefits, but results can be limited by external factors and your overall cell health. Exosome therapy, on the other hand, supports healing by providing your body with additional information from younger cells.

Compared to adult stem cells, exosomes also contain nearly three times the amount of growth factors, offering a superior ability to restore and revitalize target cells.

Exosome Therapy at Evoke 5

At Evoke 5, we administer exosome therapy through a series of intravenous (IV) treatments. While each individual is unique, most of our patients benefit from a treatment plan that involves three exosome IV treatments over a six- to seven-month period.

IV therapy is provided in our office, in a calm, relaxing, private setting, and takes an average of 40 to 60 minutes. As with all of our IV therapies, we adhere to the strictest product quality and sterility requirements.
